Lollipops: Are your absinthe lollys legal? Yep. After a ridiculously long prohibition, absinthe has officially made a comeback. The US Government recently approved the sale of absinthe within certain guidelines, namely that there is less than 10ppm of thujone. Our Absinthe Lollipops contain an amount of thujone that is within the legal limits set by the US regulatory authorities and of the European Union. Do you use real bacon in your candy? Indeed we do. And across the board we only use the most high-quality ingredients available. So that bacon? It’s not just real- it’s sustainably farmed. Will the absinthe lollipops get me wasted? Our absinthe lollipops will get you as wasted as will beer-battered chicken, bourbon-infused BBQ sauce, or lasagna alla vodka- which is to say, no: they do not contain alcohol. Furthermore, the myth of thujone is just that. If you’re interested, MSNBC wrote a really good article on the realities of absinthe’s bohemian legends (spoiler alert: the bohemians were really, really drunk). What other flavors are you going to make? Well, we have white russians, bourbon & wasabi-ginger, but we’ve got lots of good ideas. (Asked by Grandma Shelly) To open our lollies up, simply twist the wrapper in the opposite direction that it’s currently twisted, and then rip upwards. Candyphile: Do you ship to non-US countries? Absolutely. No problem at all. In fact, Australia’s crazy about us. We haven’t really gotten any research done about why that is. If you know, please clue us in. Will you ever put lollipops in the shipments? Nope! If you want our lollies, you’ll have no trouble simply ordering from us. Candyphile exists to help other small businesses that don’t necessarily have the same internet savvy we do and who wouldn’t have as large an audience otherwise. What are the scheduled shipments? We can’t tell you. Partly because we don’t have them all mapped out yet. But partly because it’s all about surprises, and keeping you excited. We promise that all the confections we’ll be offering through Candyphile are from small businesses making fantastic products that are generally hard to come by. While you may be familiar with one or two of them, this will still be a gustatory adventure. What have you shipped thus far? Since we started Candyphile in December of 2008, we have mailed out Russ Seifer’s Valomilks, Ruth Hunt’s Blue Mondays, and a bunch more- a few too many to mention. Other stuff: Do you offer wholesale pricing for retailers? If you’re a retailer and you’d like to carry our lollipops, get in touch and let us know. We’re currently being carried by a number of stores nationwide, and we’d love to add your store to the list. Can you get me my lollipops by, like, tomorrow? We’re working on that. But soon. Right now we get orders out within 3 days, and then USPS tends to take about 2-3 business days to deliver within the continental US. International orders take a bit longer for shipping. Can I order from you even if I don’t have a PayPal account? Sure! PayPal is set up to take credit card info. When you’re given the option of checking into PayPal, click “continue” instead- it’s just to the left of the login form- and you can simply input your credit card info & mailing address. I have an idea for a flavor! While that’s not technically a question, we get the general gist and are glad that you’re so enthusiastic. However, please understand that we’re a small company, and we don’t have the capacity to vacillate too far from our planned release schedule (such as it is).
